CPA firm Centeno Figueroa gets Florida certification

Guaynabo-based Centeno Figueroa & Co. is branching out to the U.S. mainland.

CPA and business advisory firm Centeno Figueroa & Co. received accreditation from the Florida Department of Professional Regulation: Board of Accountancy to do business in the southern state, the company announced. The certification was the result of a rigorous evaluation process of the 20-year firm, said CPA and company President Néstor Centeno.

“This accreditation in the state of Florida will allow us to expand the services we already offer here in Puerto Rico, to offer new business opportunities for our clients,” he said. “In turn, we reaffirm the company’s commitment to provide the highest quality services that will result in benefits for our customers.”

Branching out into new markets has become a virtual requirement to survive the global economic crisis, Centeno said.

“We are in the era of globalization and we’re seek opportunities every day to expand and make the business more profitable,” he noted. “The global economy is in a recession and is restructuring. That’s why we have to find innovative and creative ideas on how to do new business.”

Centeno Figueroa & Co. offers a broad variety of accounting services and includes in its client roster First Medical Health Plan Inc., Contact Security Inc., Action Service, Corp., Natural Slim, Emerson Process Management, First Health Call and International Pharmacy, among others.
