The Puerto Rico Products Association announced that Oct. 24 is the deadline for microentrepreneurs to apply for funding through the Antrocket crowdsourcing platform.

The trade group struck a partnership with Antrocket to “identify a 15 microentrepreneurs with quality proposals, objectives and specific growth targets. We will launch a campaign to promote capital investment in each of the 15 products with the goal of raising a minimum of $3,000 for each of them to use to develop their business operation,” Products Association President Manuel Cidre said.

So far, 22 companies have applied for funding, said Antrocket President Javier Torres, adding that interested businesses should send an email to [email protected].

“We believe in the great potential of small and medium entrepreneurs to revive Puerto Rico’s economy in the long term. We have developed this social investment platform, which allows them access to capital,” Torres said. “Our proposal is well-aligned with the Products Association’s goals and we trust that this partnership will help those 15 new entrepreneurs to see their businesses take off.”

This partnership is part of the efforts by the Puerto Rico Products Association in preparation for its annual “Hecho in Puerto Rico’ fair, slated for Dec. 7-8 in Caguas.
