The Toyota Dealers Association will be donating $100 to the CAP Foundation for every home run connected by the Superior Double A Baseball League through the end of the season that ends in August to support pediatric cancer patients receiving treatment at the Medical Center Pediatric Hospital.

The TDA will donate up to $25,000 to help the CAP Foundation provide the best possible treatment to children here on the island, near their home and family.

“Cancer is a terrible disease that doesn’t discriminate and affects every family in Puerto Rico and the world. Whether a mother, father, son or brother, we all have someone who is suffering and struggling against this disease,” said Joel Bonnet, president of the TDA.

“So for our association it is a must to join this alliance, because we have a deep commitment to the welfare of each child patient and their family,” he said.

José Quiles, president of the Puerto Rico Baseball Federation, said for players, hitting a home run this season “takes on a different meaning, to be able to help pediatric cancer patients.”

At the end of the season, home runs will be tallied and the dealers will hand over their donation to CAP. Recently, Superior Double A Baseball League players and TDA staff visited the Pediatric Hospital to spread cheer and encouragement to patients and their families.
