Wireless carrier T-Mobile recently delivered its traditional Christmas lunch to some 375 homeless people who seek assistance from nonprofit shelter La Fondita de Jesús in Santurce.

As has become tradition for the past 14 years, T-Mobile employees volunteered to prepare the typical lunch of the season, as the University of Puerto Rico and local personality Douglas Candelario and his “pleneros” provided the music for the festivity.

“We have the support of all employees who identify with this and all community efforts in which T-Mobile participates throughout the year, said Frances J. Rodríguez, public relations manager for T-Mobile, referring to the company’s contributions to nonprofits such as Susan G. Komen, Carlos Delgado’s “Extra Bases,” the Muscular Dystrophy Association, and Scuba Dogs.

“It is a way to encourage our employees to take the opportunity to share with the less fortunate,” she said.
