Doral Mortgage announced Wednesday the launch of “Ruta d hogares,” a new educational program developed in alliance with various Puerto Rican municipalities to offer free educational workshops, along with financial consulting, options and help available for buying or refinancing a property.

“With ‘Ruta d hogares’ we want to open the doors for families throughout the island by delivering our team’s knowledge and experience,” Jesús F. Méndez, executive vice president of operations of Doral Bank of Puerto Rico.

“We have designed a program that offers options for buying or refinancing, savings products for first-time home buyers and important education needed when facing financial difficulties,” he said.

‘Ruta d Hogares’ will take place in the municipalities of Guaynabo, Dorado, Bayamón and Carolina, each Saturday of this month, from 9 a.m. to noon.

The first event will take place this Saturday at Guaynabo’s Luis A. Ferré Theater at the School of Fine Arts, followed by another session Oct. 12 at the Juan Boria Theater in Dorado. Bayamón-area residents will get their chance on Oct. 19, while the final session on Oct. 26 will take place at the Antonio González Caballero Theater at the School of Fine Arts in Carolina.
