DirecTV Puerto Rico employees took a break from their jobs Thursday to provide dozens of children who are victims of abuse with materials and resources for the upcoming start of the new school year.

The initiative is part of the company’s “Generation DirecTV” social responsibility program.

Employee volunteers visited the Casa de Todos home in Juncos, which shelters about 20 girls ages 1-11. DirecTV staff surprised the girls with an agenda of activities that ranged from basketball clinics, to cartoonists and dancing.

For several months, company volunteers collected school supplies, food and other products to donate to the nonprofit organization.
