Syniverse to support LTE for Open Mobile in Puerto Rico
Open Mobile continues enhancing its 4G LTE network.
Puerto Rican mobile service provider Open Mobile has signed a multi-year agreement to renew existing services and to add services provided by Florida-based to better serve its LTE customers.
Paving the way for seamless LTE roaming, Open Mobile also will begin testing in Syniverse’s LTE roaming environment to ensure the network will accurately validate traffic flow, handle device registration and comply with all clearing requirements, the company said Wednesday.
“The strength of our ongoing relationship, as well as our confidence in their LTE expertise, platform and support staff, made Syniverse the clear choice for our migration to LTE,” said Neville Cruz, Open Mobile’s chief technology officer. “We’re excited to see the impact of these new capabilities and how LTE can enhance the mobile experience of our end users.”
The introduction of the new solutions will help Open Mobile customers to have access to a faster, more dependable network, while supporting legacy needs. During Open Mobile’s transition to 4G, Syniverse’s solutions will allow the operator to maintain its CDMA network, seamlessly providing continuous backward and forward compatibility, Syniverse said.
In total, Open Mobile will employ an all-encompassing suite of Syniverse services containing CDMA-based roaming, network and messaging solutions.
