Kiero Kiero launches deal-of-the-day service

Kiero Kiero, the newest player to join the increasingly popular deal-of-the-day savings craze, launched its service in Puerto Rico this week with the first of many deep discount offers for food and entertainment planned for the local market.

The company’s plan is to launch offers representing discounts of at least 50 percent on products and services offered by local businesses that could gain new customers by participating in the marketing method made wildly popular in the U.S. by the likes of Groupon and LivingSocial.

The service got its name from the Brazilian bird, “Quero Quero,” which it adapted to play on the word “quiero,” or “want,” in Spanish.

“To live well and happy, we always need to want, twice, not only want good things for ourselves, but for others,” the company said in a statement released earlier this week.

Kiero Kiero’s first group offer gave its first subscribers a chance to pay $1 for a $10 meal at Bebo’s Café in Santurce. The 100 offers available were sold out in just a few hours Tuesday.

Kiero Kiero will publish offers to dine out, shop, vacation and to discover new places “that can offer an unforgettable experience in Puerto Rico.” The service will publish its group offers via e-mail, Facebook and Twitter.

The group marketing company will compete against Groupon Puerto Rico, which as News is my Business reported, launched its group coupon service in May and has promoted dozens of offers on everything from dining to pet services.

Can we add it to the list?

    1. Groupon
    2. Gustazos
    3. Yupiti
    4. Cuponeando
    5. YesShop Daily Deals

That’s just five out of maybe a dozen similar sites already in the market in Puerto Rico.

Customers win. Which Daily Deal site will prevail?
