To celebrate Discovery Channel’s Shark Week 2015, Liberty Puerto Rico will hold
Blood for Sharks,” a blood drive campaign to benefit the Puerto Rico Blood Bank at Río Piedras Medical Center on July 2-3, the company announced.

Sponsored by Liberty Puerto Rico, Tres Monjitas, Plaza del Caribe Mall, Plaza Las Américas, Naimko and EuroJapón, “Blood for Sharks” marks the first time that Liberty holds this type of event to celebrate the network’s upcoming airing.

“We think this is a good community initiative tied to a television event that already has a huge fan base not just in the United States but on the island as well,” said Gabriel Palerm, vice president of sales, marketing and media of Liberty Puerto Rico.

“We’re always looking for opportunities to do more for the communities that we serve and this campaign is a good example of that,” he said. In addition to helping the Blood Bank, we’re giving a fun twist to the drive and we will be rewarding Shark Week fans with exclusive content and items.”

Blood for Sharks begins today at Plaza del Caribe in Ponce from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in front of Lens Crafters. On Friday, Blood for Sharks moves to Plaza Las Américas in Hato Rey, in front of West Elm, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
