National University College Online Division will introduce Canvas as the institution’s new Learning Management System starting this week, the higher learning institution announced Monday.

Canvas is the newest and most technologically advanced platform currently for online studies. National University College Online Division is also unveiling a renewed web page and full bilingual programs, the college said.

At present, top colleges and school districts around the nation are using Canvas, and National University College as become the first educational institution in Puerto Rico to adopt this platform. Students can access Canvas anytime, anywhere by downloading an easy-to-use mobile application.

Through Canvas, students can keep track of their progress in class, complete assignments, participate in discussions, access class materials, download videos and archives, and send and receive messages, among other options. All courses will be offered in English and Spanish, starting Sept. 3.

“With our transition to Canvas, we significantly updated and enriched our online learning platform. The ability to offer a quality bilingual education positions National University College Online Division as the institution of choice in Puerto Rico, the continental U.S. and elsewhere to serve a diverse and global student population,” said Dr. Gino Natalicchio, National University College Online Division’s executive vice president.
