OneLink Communications announced that effective Sept. 4 it will be offering 53 additional HD channels, bumping up its portfolio to 78 stations to which customers in San Juan can sign up for.

“This change does not involve price increases in service packs. It’s that customers have HDTV-ready television sets and OneLink’s HD or HD/DVR equipment,” said Jorge Hernández, Onelink’s vice president and chief financial officer.

The announcement reflects the provider’s commitment to expand its range of offerings and complete its transition to 100 percent digital picture quality, he said.

“We’re adding these 53 channels to the 25 existing channels, which translates into added value for our customers,” Hernández added.

The range of new channels that are part of OneLink’s expanded HD lineup cover variety, sports, movies, news, children, music and entertainment, lifestyle, documentaries and special interest and science programming.

OneLink’s announcement comes as it works its way through a sale of its operations to Liberty Cablevision, a $500 million deal slated to close by year’s end.
