With an investment of more than $800,000 and the creation of 25 direct jobs, Venezuelan entrepreneur Jesús Roldán-Díaz has opened the newest Red Mango restaurant of the chain.

With this new store, the Red Mango chain now comprises 12 locations, which have opened in a three-year period. Roldán-Díaz will open two operations: the first in Condado and another in Carolina in October.

The new Red Mango is located on Magdalena Avenue next to Stop & Go, and is open seven days a week, Sunday to Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

“We see in the Red Mango franchise an excellent investment opportunity on the island. In only three years we have seen the success of Mario Alverio’s vision of betting on the giant local niche of customers who wants natural and healthy gastronomic alternatives, away from fast food options,” said Roldán-Díaz.

Opening day activities will take place Sept. 17, including stretching, exercise and yoga sessions, a nutritional seminar a DJ, activities for children, tastings and other surprises.

Frozen yogurt chain Red Mango also offers other alternatives and a broad low-calorie menu, said Alverio-Dominguez, CEO of Good For You Franchise, LLC, the company behind Red Mango’s expansion in Puerto Rico.

The menu also includes vegan juices squeezed and packaged at the moment, salads, wraps flatbreads, coffee, yogurts and 21 different flavors of fruit smoothies.
