Healthcare Ambulatory Services recently announced the Nov. 1 opening of its third location in Puerto Rico, in Cayey, where it invested $700,000 in a modern facility offering specialized medical services. The new clinic has created 60 new jobs in the central mountain town.

Established in 2005, HAS offers medical services through its two locations in Plaza del Carmen Mall in Caguas and at the municipality’s town square. Each generates 60 jobs.

“On a population level, it is assumed that for every 25,000 inhabitants, there should be a health facility. For this reason, there was a need to establish an additional Emergency Room in this town,” said José A. Rivera, co-owner of HAS.

“Hence, our desire to join and contribute to the public health sector in this region. But beyond the medical services we offer, we want to join and support the community of Cayey. Good medical service should start by establishing a good relationship with the community,” he said.

The new facility has nine treatment rooms for services such as general medicine, pediatrics, X-Rays, labs, minor surgery, and respiratory therapy, among others. Regular office hours are between 7:30 a.m. and 9 p.m., and HAS accepts most major health plans.
