PharmPix gets pharmacy benefit management approval

PharmPix, a local full-service Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) company, has again earned URAC accreditation in its field, the company announced Tuesday.

URAC is the independent leader in promoting quality and efficiency of healthcare management through the processes of accreditation, certification, and measurement. By achieving this status, PharmPix has demonstrated “a comprehensive commitment to quality care, efficient processes and improve patient outcomes,” the company said.

PharmPix was founded in 2009 in Puerto Rico and has been accredited since 2013. The current accreditation is valid until Dec. 1, 2019. The company has been transforming health plans pharmacy benefits administration for better quality of life through administering pharmacy benefit costs.

PharmPix also provides educational material for the providers, promoting the correct use of branded and generic drugs.

“When we started, we wanted PharmPix to set higher professional standards for our Pharmacy Benefit Management services clients,” said Martty Martinez-Fraticelli, PharmPix’s president.

“URAC has been a benchmark for us to improve and enhance our benefit processes management and we feel honored to have again passed all of URAC’s quality standards,” Martinez-Fraticelli. “This accreditation, in which we obtained a 100 percent score, validates our commitment to improve the health and quality of life of our members and set the stage for future growth.”
