DDR Corp. hosts back-to-school supplies collection drive

DiPresenteLG copyDDR Corp., owner and manager of 15 shopping centers in Puerto Rico, is inviting the general public to join its community effort, “This Back to School, Say Present,” which aims to collect and donate school supplies to several nonprofit organizations that need materials for school children under their care.

The initiative will take place from July 24 to Aug. 16, when donations can be dropped off at customer service desks of the following malls: Plaza del Sol and Plaza Río Hondo in Bayamon, Plaza del Norte in Hatillo, and Plaza Palma Real in Humacao. Others shopping centers that will be participating are Señorial Plaza, Plaza Escorial, Plaza Fajardo, Cayey Plaza, Plaza Isabela, Plaza del Atlántico, Plaza Walmart, Plaza del Oeste and Plaza Vega Baja.

About 3,000 school supplies were delivered by DDR Puerto Rico to six entities last year, namely, Bondad Home, Fatima Home, San Cristobal Home, CREARTE, CODERI, Jesús Nazareno Home, and Cuna San Cristóbal Home.

“Thanks to our donors, this year additional entities will be benefitting from the effort — SER de Puerto Rico, P.E.C.E.S., Santa Teresita Home, Juan Bosco Home; Portal de Amor Home and La Milagrosa Home providing students with the tools they need to perform better at school,” said Martha Hermilla, senior director of marketing for DDR in Puerto Rico.

“Puerto Rico requires the commitment of the private sector and the communities to join forces and help our student’s succeed,” she said.
