Frozen yogurt chain Yogen Früz is maintaining a steady growth pattern in Puerto Rico, where it recently opened its 17th store, at the Plaza Los Palacios mall in Toa Alta. The new retail outlet generates 15 jobs, company officials said.

“Yogen Früz has already become Puerto Rico’s favorite brand of frozen yogurt due to the exquisite taste of our product and its nutritional attributes. It’s a healthy product,” said Marcos Padilla, Toa Alta store owner.

“In addition, Yogen Früz gives you the opportunity to taste a variety of combinations and is sold for a fixed price, not by weight,” he said, referring to the strategy used by some of its local competitors.

Yogen Früz sells a variety of flavors, including natural yogurt, or “tart,” strawberry cheesecake, passion fruit, coconut, hazelnut and key lime pie. It also offers a choice of toppings, from fresh fruit to sweet temptations like chocolate, marshmallow, mochi, cheesecake bites, brownie bites and others.

The new store joins other locations in Caguas, Aguadilla, Dorado, Guaynabo, Mayagüez, Vega Alta, Hatillo, Humacao and San Juan that generate a combined 250 jobs. The Canadian franchise arrived to Puerto Rico in 2008 and plans to open more stores islandwide this year.
