1st successful Antrocket.com project reaches 136% of funding goal
With $2,041 collected, Adrian Gandía’s project marks an important milestone for Antrocket.com, which was launched about a month ago.

Thanks to the support of tens of followers on Antrocket.com, juvenile Judo athlete Adrián Gandía is now closer to his goal of obtaining a medal for Puerto Rico in the 2016 Olympic Games in Brazil.
After a 45-day campaign on Antrocket.com, Puerto Rico’s first crowdfunding platform, the “Quest to become an Olympic Champion” project was able to garner 136 percent of its $1,500 goal.
The funds are destined to the young athlete’s technical and physical training leading to a full agenda of championships over the next nine months with the long term goal of representing Puerto Rico in the Olympic Games.
“Through Antrocket.com we were able to reach a group of followers willing to support Adrián’s dream,” said Miguel Gandía, the athlete’s father and co-creator of the project with his wife Maridalys.
“With the initial video and frequent updates we were able to convince many people that supporting my son’s goals with their donations is a worthwhile investment. We are grateful for every dollar received and ready to give out rewards to all of our followers,” he added.

“During this first month of operations it has been fascinating to see the variety of projects that are using our platform and the creativity with which they speak to their followers to gain their trust and support,” said Javier Torres, co-founder and director of operations for Antrocket.com.
“We are certain that we will continue to attract more successful projects and we encourage people to bring their ideas to Antrocket.com now that we have proven that it delivers results,” added Torres.
There are other projects currently campaigning on Antrocket.com on their way to achieving their funding goals.
Among the most popular ones are the short film “El Extraordinario Sr. Júpiter”, which has achieved 42 percent of its funding goals with 28 days left to achieve it; a group of engineering students from the University of Puerto Rico in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico Steel Bridge Team, which has achieved 53 percent of its funding goal, and the organic moringa farm BenSol, which has achieved 41 percent of its goal with 28 days remaining.
Antrocket.com is a rewards-based crowdfunding site for projects in need of financial resources that haven’t been able to find them in the traditional banking system. It was founded by a group of Puerto Rican entrepreneurs as an alternate source of funding for their projects.
The crowdfunding model provides for a group of followers to donate their own money to finance projects in exchange for rewards. For example, followers who donated $20 to the “Quest to become and Olympic Champion” project will receive a thank you message, a mention on Facebook and Twitter, and an autographed photo of Adrián Gandía.
