AccessLatina announces winners of accelerator program
AccessLatina, the first multi-market accelerator that provides capital and resources to Latina entrepreneurs in the high-growth industries of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Math), social innovation and agriculture announced the winners of its first cohort.
- Ix Style — [ New York ] Francesca Kennedy is an artisan sandals designer with a mission of donating clean drinking water to children in Guatemala for every purchase made. Her sandals have been worn by A-listers such as Gwyneth Paltrow, while she has collaborated with top brands such as GAP, Anthropologie, and J.Crew.
- ConCalma — [ Puerto Rico ] Matilsha Marxuach created a marketplace for fair-trade, environmentally responsible, and local artisanal tote bags with a mission of practicing sustainability.
The winners will receive $25,000 grant, a six-month mentorship program, a profile assessment with Georgetown University Graduate School of Business, and the opportunity to present their business to angel fund Golden Seeds. Tres Monjitas presented special awards were presented to finalists including capital and mentorship for innovation in agriculture and financial mentorship from Oriental Bank.
The finalists, which together have generated more than $1.2 million in revenue during the last two years, participated in a three-module “Growth Spark” program with renowned global leaders.
