Banco Popular’s online platform nabs Global Finance award

For the second year in a row, Banco Popular’s Internet platform has been included among the region’s best performers as per Global Finance’s Best Internet Bank Award 2011 competition. The bank received the organization’s “Best Bill Payment and Presentment” distinction.
Since launching in 2000, Popular’s “Mi Banco” platform, has been well received by users due to its “easy-to-navigate” format and the significant amount of information the client can obtain through it, bank officials said Thursday.
“We’re very pleased with this recognition. Undoubtedly, it helps us a lot to know that we’re on the right track, as an international organization such as Global Finance is recognizing our work and the advantages of our Internet platform,” said Camille Burckhart, first vice president of Popular’s technology management division. “Our goal is that our clients have in Banco Popular the best Internet platform available in the financial market.”
Popular’s Internet service has received numerous awards over the years, including “Best Consumer Online Bill Payment and Presentment in Latin America” in 2004, “Best Consumer Internet Banks in Puerto Rico” in 2007, “Best Consumer Internet Banks in Puerto Rico” in 2008, “Best Consumer Internet Bank in Puerto Rico” and “Best Online Deposits Acquisition in Latin America” in 2009, and “Best Bill Payment and Presentment in Latin America” in 2010.
