Banco Cooperativo recently launched its new “Zona Card,” a MasterCard debit card exclusive for the “Z” generation — 16 to 25 year-olds — available at participating credit unions. BanCoop also launched a mobile application that will help clients locate credit unions and ATMs affiliated with the Red Coop24 network.

“Bancoop has always had a strong commitment to support initiatives that contribute to a better quality of life of our people and, of course, the cooperative movement,” said BanCoop President Ángel L. Sáez-López. “As it is widely known, debit cards have become the preferred means of payment for our partners and customers. Today we present a unique card, designed to respond to a very important and growing sector, with great potential for economic development: our youth, especially college youth.”

Given that the new debit option is a MasterCard product, it is accepted in millions of establishments and ATMs worldwide, as well as online. Meanwhile, to download BanCoop’s new mobile app, search for “Coop24” via the iTunes app store or via the Android Marketplace on any smartphone.
