Banks outline schedules for long holiday weekend

While many Puerto Rico residents will kick off a four-day weekend today, commercial banks will be observing the July 25th Constitution Day celebration and Saturday’s José Celso Barbosa holiday with special hours.

Banco Popular
Will offer services at more than 25 branches located inside malls islandwide on July 25 and 27, the bank said.

Branches at San Germán, Plaza del Oeste, Guayama Mall and Vega Alta will open from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

Branches at the Aguadilla Mall, Barceloneta Outlets, Galería Paseos, Humacao Palma Real, Isabela Mall, Mayagüez Mall Centro, Parque Escorial, Plaza del Caribe, Xtra Plaza Fajardo and Yauco Plaza will open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., while branches at Walmart stores in Caguas, Cayey, Manatí, Stop 18 in Santurce, Ponce and Toa Baja will serve the public from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Branches at Plaza Centro Sur and Las Catalinas will open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., while branches inside the Canóvanas Outlet, Las Catalinas, Montehiedra, Plaza Carolina, Plaza del Sol, Plaza Las Américas and San Patricio mall will offer services from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The aforementioned schedules and locations will repeat on Saturday, the bank informed.

Popular Auto’s daily rental service will be closed today, and will offer services through noon Saturday. The Carolina office will remain open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

On Friday, all Banco Popular branches, services and operations, as well as those of other company subsidiaries will operate on a regular schedule.

Oriental Bank
All branches, customer service centers and company headquarters will remain closed today, but will operate normally on Friday.

Santander Puerto Rico
All Santander bank branches, Island Finance locations, Santander Financial, the Mortgage Banking division, Santander Insurance and the bank’s headquarters will remain closed today. Santander Securities and Santander Asset Management will operate on a regular schedule today.

All will offer services during regular business hours on Friday.

On Saturday, Santander Puerto Rico and its Mortgage Banking division will offer services at 10 branches — Plaza Las Américas in Hato Rey, Plaza Carolina, Mayagüez Mall, Plaza del Caribe in Ponce, Aguadilla, Plaza del Sol in Bayamón, Parque Escorial in Carolina, Caguas Sur, Yauco Plaza and Arecibo — from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Island Finance and Santander Financial will open from 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday.

FirstBank
Different from its industry peers, FirstBank will open 10 branches today, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mall locations Plaza Las Américas, Plaza Carolina, Las Catalinas, Ponce Centro del Sur, Mayagüez Mall, Manatí, Fajardo, Plaza Río Hondo, Yauco and Guaynabo will remain open on that schedule, while FirstMortgage and FirstBank Insurance will not offer services today.

The bank and its affiliates will offer regular services Saturday, but will remain closed on Sunday.

Scotiabank
Will open the following branches from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today: Plaza Las Américas, Plaza del Sol, Plaza Carolina, Plaza Fajardo, Mayagüez Mall, Rexville Towne Center, Ponce Plaza del Caribe, Caguas Villa Blanca, Trujillo Alto, Los Colobos, San Patricio and Arecibo.

All branches will return to their regular schedules on Friday and Saturday.
