Shoe Carnival in Puerto Rico is going strong with its local expansion, adding two new stores to its footprint in time for back to school. The new Shoe Carnival stores, located in Rexville Plaza in Bayamón and Mayagüez Mall, range in size between approximately 11,000 and 17,000 square feet and employ around 60 full and part time associates combined.

“We established ourselves in Puerto Rico two years ago. These two openings demonstrate the commitment Shoe Carnival has to the development and local economy. Shoe Carnival has definitely proven to be a good fit in the Puerto Rico retail sales market,” said Todd Beurman, senior vice president of marketing for Shoe Carnival.

Both stores opened over the weekend with giveaways for the first visiting customers.

Since its opening two years ago, Shoe Carnival stores have offered the public a variety of styles in diverse categories for the entire family. Top brands include Nike, Reebok, Puma, Adidas, Crocs, Clarks, Skechers, Makers and Fila. Shoe Carnival also has an entertaining format at the stores that offers daily discounts, games and information about the available products through the participation of a “mic person.”

“Shoe Carnival’s innovative program continues to offer a broad selection of shoes for the whole family in a comfortable and entertaining environment. Every time you go, you will find daily specials and have the opportunity to participate in storewide games,” Beurman added.

With the new stores, Shoe Carnival now has nine stores islandwide, with a total of 202 employees.
