Chili’s Puerto Rico, United for a Cause Foundation mark National Pet Day

Chili’s Puerto Rico has joined the United for a Cause Foundation — a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating programs and events for the benefit of homeless animals and rescue organizations in Puerto Rico — to celebrate National Pet Day with a fundraiser across the 23 restaurant locations on the island, for all those who order online.

On April 11, Chili’s will contribute 15% of total sales from online orders at chilispr.com to the foundation, rewarding participants with a complimentary bandana.

This partnership aims to assist the foundation’s efforts in providing care, sterilization and food for animals in need within Puerto Rico, organizers said.

“We are delighted to have the support of Chili’s Puerto Rico in this initiative, which, in addition to raising funds for sterilizations and providing food to rescue organizations on the island, allows us to continue educating about the problem of homeless animals. It is estimated that there are more than 500,000 abandoned dogs and cats in our streets. We invite everyone to dine at Chili’s and help us continue our mission of love,” commented Dana Capó, president of UCF.

“At Chili’s, we’re committed to the well-being of the communities in which we operate,” said Irmaliz Romero, senior marketing manager of Chili’s’ holding company, International Restaurant Services Inc.

“This alliance with United for a Cause Foundation fills our hearts and is a way to contribute to the important work they do to improve the quality of life of homeless animals in Puerto Rico,” she added.
