Dorado Beach, Ritz-Carlton Reserve taking reservations
The Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve is situated on 1,400 acres of pristine beachfront property in Dorado.
Two months ahead of its scheduled grand opening, the Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve announced this week it has begun accepting reservations to stay at what will be Puerto Rico’s most lavish hotel property.
The $342 million, 115-room ocean front luxury resort located on the footprints of the former Laurance Rockefeller estate, a celebrated destination for over 50 years, is set to open its doors on Dec, 12, 2012.
“We are thrilled to unveil this magnificent sanctuary in time for the Holidays and 2013 season,” said Alejandro Helbling, general manager of Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve.
“Our discriminating, discerning customers will find Dorado Beach’s unspoiled natural beauty, heritage and world-class offerings exceptionally alluring, making it the perfect destination to debut the first Reserve in the Americas,” he added.
High season rates at the resort start at $1,600 per night, setting a new luxury benchmark for the Caribbean.
Construction of the ultra-luxe resort that will bring the Dorado Beach hotel back to life five years after it was shuttered, began in July 2011. The property will be the second in the Ritz-Carlton Reserve’s exclusive portfolio worldwide, joining Phulay Bay in Krabi, Southern Thailand.
The sprawling Dorado Beach, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve property is located on 1,400 acres in Dorado, and features guestrooms and one-bedroom suites, all directly on the beach, plus Su Casa, the original plantation hacienda renovated back to its original 1920s style to serve as a five-bedroom beachfront VIP villa, perfect for weddings and private parties.
The hotel’s list of amenities includes the first restaurant outside the U.S. mainland to be opened by award-winning Spanish Chef José Andrés, world-class golf courses, and an environmental education and eco-adventure program run by Jean-Michel Cousteau. This latter offering will use the pristine Dorado Beach coastline as the natural classroom, introducing travelers to Puerto Rico’s natural wonders and cultural heritage at the resort.
