Hilton Worldwide has honored Julio Navedo, a houseman from the Doubletree By Hilton San Juan, with the company’s Spirit of CARE Award. This award designates Navedo as a top performer within DoubleTree by Hilton Hotels, the company said Thursday.

Nominated by their peers because of exemplary loyalty, attitude and service, the chosen team members continually exceed expectations of both customers and fellow team members. Less than one percent of all DoubleTree by Hilton team members nationwide receive this honor.

“Navedo continues to make outstanding contributions to guests and team members, showing great enthusiasm in all areas of his work at the hotel,” said Yodil Cabán, general manager of the hotel. “We’re proud of his recognition as a Spirit of CARE Award winner, the company’s most prestigious team member award.”

“Employees like Navedo create a welcoming and exceptional experience for guests, which impacts other team members and creates a domino effect of great service,” Cabán said.

Navedo, a Dorado resident, has been performing as the hotel’s “Doubletree cookie” character, participating in numerous activities related to the hotel and the community. His participation in such activities has increased local awareness of the DoubleTree brand, prompting guests to make reservations at the hotel to spend time with “The Cookie Man” in an activity, hotel executives said.
