25 Organizaciones sin fines de lucro dedicadas a la educación, la salud y las artes en Puerto Rico se reparten $265K en subvenciones.
Twenty-five nonprofit organizations across Puerto Rico will receive a total of $265,000 to support work in education, health, arts and culture, and women’s empowerment.
The grants, awarded through the Mano Amiga program, are funded by the Plaza Las Américas Foundation and the Plaza Del Caribe Foundation, which support community-driven initiatives.
Of the 25 recipients, 20 grants were awarded by the Plaza Las Américas Foundation, focusing largely on the metro area. Among the supported organizations are Centros Sor Isolina Ferré, Fundación de Desarrollo Comunal de Puerto Rico, Nuestra Escuela and the Museo de Arte de Puerto Rico, which contribute to education and cultural programming across the island.
Groups such as the Caribbean Girl Scouts Council, SER de Puerto Rico and Ciencia Puerto Rico will use their grants to expand educational programs, arts initiatives and outreach.
The Plaza Del Caribe Foundation awarded five grants to groups in Puerto Rico’s southern region, including ProTechos, which trains youth in carpentry and disaster recovery, and Para la Naturaleza, which provides environmental education for children.
Six organizations are first-time recipients of Mano Amiga funding this year, as part of the program’s effort to expand its reach.
