Just 12 days after the Puerto Rico government implanted the TweetMyJobs platform, some 4,497 people have registered on the website to start their search for jobs, the Economic Development and Commerce Department said Wednesday.

“We’re extremely excited about the numbers we have seen so far. These numbers demonstrate the real interest Puerto Ricans have to work and how eager they are to get a suitable job,” Economic Development Secretary Alberto Bacó-Bagué said. “TweetMyJobs provides that tool. The application currently has 4,226 jobs in its database, representing 105 additional slots in comparison to those reported when it was launched.”

In its first 12 days, the platform has been visited by 8,127 people, of which 60 percent registered in it. Meanwhile, 702 users have downloaded the mobile application.

“It’s not only important to see the number of people who have registered to seek employment, it’s equally important to see the response we’ve had from employers that have fueled this database,” said Francisco Chévere, executive director of Puerto Rico Trade and Export. “To date, 76 employers in Puerto Rico are using this tool to promote available jobs.”

The “TweetMyJobs” platform is a system that serves to connect people looking for jobs with employers that have various open positions throughout the government.
