Toyota ‘adopts’ stretch of Muñoz Rivera Avenue
A brigade of Toyota de Puerto Rico employees recently cleaned up the area of Muñoz Rivera Avenue close to the automaker’s headquarters in Río Piedras.
Looking to uphold its commitment to the environment and the community, Toyota de Puerto Rico announced its participation in the Department of Transportation and Public Works’ “Adopt a Highway” program, taking over the responsibility for cleaning and beautifying a stretch of Muñoz Rivera Avenue in Río Piedras, where its headquarters are located.
“For almost 20 years, Toyota de Puerto Rico has been a resident of this area of Río Piedras. This area is more than a neighborhood, it’s our community and home,” said Nancy Navales, vice president of Toyota de Puerto Rico.
“For this reason, today we take concrete action to contribute to its improvement with the aim of encouraging the beautification of our environment. Through cleaning and maintenance efforts, we seek to set an example and inspire other neighbors to also take an active role in the improvement of this sector of Río Piedras,” she said.
Navales also said that adopting that portion of Muñoz Rivera Avenue is “a reaffirmation of the commitment that Toyota has with the environment both globally and locally. A legacy that the company has kept alive for nearly two decades.”
