ArqPoli in Hato Rey opens new facilities
The new ArqPoli building also houses the Polytechnic’s arts and sciences departments.
The Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico School of Architecture, known as ArqPoli for short, recently completed and inaugurated an expanded and renovated building in Hato Rey, in time for the start of the 2013-14 academic year.
The building is “characterized by its light, spatial flow and richness in the use of materials in an innovative way, turning this vessel that is an exporter of knowledge to give Puerto Rico the transformation we all long for,” said Carlos Betancourt-Llambías, an arquitect and ArqPoli dean.
“ArqPoli’s expansion and rehabilitation brings a message of evolution, transformation and innovation. A vision that goes hand in hand with our school where we always look for small and large solutions to our island’s problems,” he said.
“We’re creatively forming competent professionals whose practical business and technology profile will enable them to enter the profession’s workforce and contribute to the manufacturing, industrial and construction fields, among others,” Betancourt-Llambías said.
The new building also houses the Polytechnic’s arts and sciences departments.
