As part of its continuing network investment and ongoing 4G LTE rollout, AT&T has activated two new 4G LTE cell sites and upgraded seven existing sites with LTE to expand AT&T 4G LTE coverage for Puerto Rico residents and businesses.

The areas benefiting from the expanded 4G LTE coverage and speeds include:

  • Yabucoa – Along PR Roads 908 and 909 in the rural Humacao area between Tejas, Jagueyes and Mariana and in rural Yabucoa
  • Ponce – Along PR Road 14 in La Rambla and Ponce Highway 52
  • Toa Alta – Along PR Roads 2 and 22
  • Guaynabo – In the Garden Hills and Torrimar areas
  • San Juan – Along PR Road 842 in Caimito

AT&T 4G LTE is the latest generation of wireless network technology and provides several benefits for local residents, including faster mobile Internet speeds, improved performance and innovative new 4G LTE-compatible devices.

“Our expansion of 4G LTE coverage in Puerto Rico demonstrates our continued commitment in delivering the best mobile experience and the largest 4G LTE network,” said José Juan Dávila, president and general manager for AT&T Mobility Puerto Rico & U.S. Virgin Islands.

The two new 4G LTE cell sites and LTE upgrades to seven other sites are one part of AT&T’s ongoing efforts to expand 4G LTE coverage and to drive investment and innovation to deliver the nation’s best, most advanced mobile Internet experience for customers.

“Our goal is for our customers to have an extraordinary experience, and they’ll be able to download, upload, stream and game faster than ever before on our 4G LTE network,” said Ray Flores, regional vice president AT&T Puerto Rico & USVI.  “As part of the Puerto Rico community, we’re always looking for new opportunities to provide enhanced coverage, and our investment in the local wireless network is another way we’re accomplishing that.”
