Bacardí Corp. recently sponsored its first “Women in Leadership” workshop in Puerto Rico, incorporating the program established by parent Bacardí Limited in 2011 and that has been implemented in 17 countries where the company operates.

The seminar brought together company executives and a large group of “talented women with great potential who work for Bacardi in Puerto Rico and throughout the Caribbean region,” company officials said.

“In addition to producing the most consumed and sold premium rum in the world, and having more than 200 brands of distilled spirits excellence, our greatest pride is our people and our corporate culture, that Bacardí can be recognized as the best place to work,”said Joaquín Bacardí, president and CEO of Bacardí Corporation.

“Our success depends on how we work as a team, create a culture of commitment, trust and passion, resulting in excellence,” said Bacardí.

Stacie Thomas, vice president of Human Resources for Bacardí USA served as moderator of the event that brought together a group of first class speakers, among them said Betsy Myers, international speaker on the subject of leadership. She is director and founder of the Center for Women and Business at Bentley University and has vast experience in the field of higher education in the corporate world and with great achievements in the political arena, as a consultant on issues of women as presidents Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.

Meyers presented the profile of what is considered a leading woman in the 21st century, what attributes they must have and what is expected of them in the corporate world.
