The CPA Society, in collaboration with the Center for Public and Corporate Governance at the University of Turabo, will host “The challenges of governance: proposing solutions to the crisis” forum this Friday, when a group of international speakers will share their views on the subject.
The lineup of guests includes: Arpine Korekyan, of the United Nations; Maurice McTigue, from the Mercatus Center; Francisco Javier Porras-Sánchez, of Mexico’s Instituto Mora; Sen. Ángel Rosa, chairman of the Senate Government Committee; CPA Yesmín Valdivieso, Puerto Rico Comptroller; CPA Juan Agosto Alicea, former Puerto Rico Treasury secretary; Economist Gustavo Vélez; and Héctor Peña, director of the El Nuevo Día newspaper’s “Opinion” section.
The panel of speakers will discuss strategies for governance, transparency, and access to information and accountability as tools to promote sustainable economic development and quality of life.
“We hope that the ideas exposed and shared on the issue of public governance have an effect on to our island and attain viable and sustainable solutions,” CPA Society President Aníbal Jover said.
