CIAPR announces new Sept. 13-16 convention date

After having to postpone its Expo Convention 2012 due to Tropical Storm Isaac’s looming threat last month, the Puerto Rico College of Engineers and Surveyors, known as the CIAPR, has rescheduled the event for Sept. 13-16, trade group President Angel L. González-Carrasquillo said.
The event will focus on proposals, solutions and seminars in the areas of infrastructure, transportation, energy, environment and manufacturing for Puerto Rico’s development in light of the current economic scenario. The general agenda includes a total of 36, 90-minute technical presentations, including a question and answer session on the aforementioned topics.
Expo Convention 2012 will retain is original structure consisting of four concurrent forum sessions, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sept. 13 and 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Sept. 14, prior to the afternoon presentations by the candidates running for governor. Each candidate will offer a 15-minute exposition on the chosen topic: “Proposals in the areas of Infrastructure and Transportation, Energy, Environment and Manufacturing Development of Puerto Rico.”
“Then there will be a period for questions related to the topic of the presentation,” said González-Carrasquillo, who represents 11,000 CIAPR members.
The convention will conclude with an annual assembly on Sept. 15.
