Codetrotters, the first hacker school in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean announced it has been selected among 20 global startups to join the world’s first startup decelerator, Menorca Millennials, among more than 400 groups that applied.

Only two-time entrepreneurs with proven track records and the ability to impact more than 1 billion people worldwide are eligible to participate in the two-week retreat on the Island of Menorca, where founders, guided by world-renowned mentors, decelerate in an environment that allows them to reduce mental noise, while connecting with investors and getting ready for acceleration.

“We feel privileged that we were selected for this program. We’ve been preparing for growth since we launched nine months ago and now we’re ready to gain a fresh perspective and kick-off our acceleration,” said Sofia Stolberg, co-founder and CEO of Codetrotters.

During two weeks in June, the 20 participating startups will receive mentoring from international experts including Di-Ann Eisnor, VP of growth at WAZE, acquired by Google for more than $1 billion, Martin Varsavsky, telecom mogul and founder of Wifi network provider FON, Verne Harnish founder of Entrepreneur’s Organization and Manel Adell former CEO at Desigual, among many others.

“In many ways the program starts after the two weeks in the Balearic Island. The Menorca Millennials team has deep-rooted relationships with investors all over the world and they are committed to introducing participating startups to potential investors and supporting them in their fundraising efforts,” said Michael McClure, also co-founder at Codetrotters.
