Puerto Rico’s technological sector has taken a pivotal role in the ongoing growth of the island’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, a phenomenon that has prompted the celebration of the upcoming H3 Tech Conference on Nov. 21-22, to give so-called “Hustlers,” “Hipsters,” and “Hackers” the forum to exchange ideas, experiences and knowledge.

The H3 Tech Conference is the first tech conference developed to bring the three “H’s” together to maximize their potential as a group and foster the birth of new tech-related businesses, organizers said.

“When we began to develop this event, we considered similar events in other parts of the world. Here, we’re joining excellent inspiring resources that have left an impact on the technology industry in Puerto Rico,” said Carlos Cobián, entrepreneur and the event’s chief organizer.

“This is an impact event for those pursuing an entrepreneurial dream and who want to make connections,” he said. “We’re sure that each participant will leave equipped and ready to think big.”

During the event, programmers, entrepreneurs and graphic designers will be able to come together to develop innovative businesses. A company typically needs the three types of professionals to create a “powerful and efficient team to contact, collaborate and support each other to spur a young, fast-growing community to create and build incredible cutting-edge enterprises,” he said.

The H3 Tech Conference, to take place at the Caribe Hilton hotel, includes plenary and concurrent chats related to three main areas: software development, enterprise development, and design (UX/UI.)

The lineup of speakers comprises participants from the U.S. mainland, Europe, Canada and Puerto Rico. Included in the roster is Donna Novitsky, one of Inc. Magazine’s “10 Women to Watch in Tech 2014” and CEO of San Francisco-based Yiftee, as well as representatives from Etsy, Acompli, Rocket Learning, Startup Experience and VA Angels.

“It must be noted that we’ll also have speakers from renowned academic institutions such as MIT and Stanford. With this project we aim to inspire, educate and provide the best tools to prospective entrepreneurs,” said Cobián.
