P.R. Convention Center lands on list of top 50 expo halls

The Puerto Rico Convention Center ranked 26out of 50 on ConventionSouth magazine’s list of “The South’s 101 Largest Expo Halls” for 2015.
The list comprises convention and exhibition facilities from across 16 states in the South and the Caribbean Seas Region that offer meeting planners the largest amount of contiguous space under one roof, according to research by ConventionSouth’s editorial team.
“Meeting Planners and event organizers that organize large conventions, trade shows and exhibitions, concerts, rallies, and congregations will find the facilities that are recognized on this have some of the largest gathering spaces in the U.S. and the world, and certainly in the South,” said ConventionSouth Editor Marlane Bundock.
“These event facilities were ranked based on several factors and qualifications, including their location, facility type, ability to accommodate exhibitions and total contiguous event space. Their contiguous space, unlike continuous space, is available to groups through one or more adjoining or adjacent rooms that are not prohibited by fire walls and are located on one level and under one roof,” she said.
“The South’s 101 Largest Expo Halls” will be featured in the September 2014 issue of ConventionSouth magazine, which is circulated in print and online to national and international meeting planners who book meeting sites in the South and Caribbean Seas region.
Topping the is the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, the NRG Center and the George R. Brown Convention Center, both in Houston. The three expo centers boast more than 1 million square feet of space.
The Puerto Rico Convention Center was ranked among facilities offering between 499,999 and 100,000 square feet of contiguous space.
