DDEC to host ‘Exporting: Route to Growth’ workshops
The Puerto Rico Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC, in Spanish) has started a series of workshops titled “Exporting: Route to Growth” to teach local entrepreneurs the skills to promote and sell their products abroad.
“Knowing these commercial activities is the key to achieving successful businesses through exports. I urge entrepreneurs not to miss this opportunity to train on this topic so they can start or strengthen business relationships with other markets and boost their business growth,” said DDEC Secretary Manuel Cidre.
“Participants will obtain vital information about all services, assistance and incentives available, both at the state and federal level,” said Soraya Morón, assistant secretary of Entrepreneurship and Business Development of the DDEC.
“These workshops serve to create a space to connect and exchange ideas among entrepreneurs, which fosters new opportunities for doing business,” she added.
The workshops are complimentary and will address various aspects of exporting and international commerce, including planning, logistics, marketing, legal issues and cultural considerations.
Upcoming sessions include one today at the Escuela Taller Artesanal in Canóvanas, another on April 18 at the Complejo Ferial in Ponce, and a final one on April 25 at Casa Ulanga in Arecibo.
“No entrepreneur should miss this opportunity to strengthen their business and learn about the latest trends and best export practices so that industries can successfully enter new markets,” Cidre emphasized.
