‘Dondesea’ food truck rolls into Santurce
The ‘Dondesea” food truck offers a menu of fresh options in the heart of Santurce.
Puerto Rico’s thriving food truck scene recently welcomed its newest player, “Dondesea,” which recently rolled into a permanent spot on Ponce de León Avenue in Santurce, a few blocks away from the Ciudadela complex.
The bright green truck offers a variety of affordable options — mostly burgers and sandwiches — made with fresh, quality ingredients, said Eduardo Marcial, co-owner of mobile kitchenette.
On the menu are “Dondesea,” “El Reguero,” and “Loquesea,” a hamburger stuffed between two slices of sweet “mallorca” bread garnished with a choice of cheese and other unique toppings, including a “guacamayo” spread that combines avocado and mayo.
Marcial said the idea for the food truck’s name, which translates into “wherever,” came from the typical response given by someone when asked about where they want to go eat.
“When people ask about where to go eat, someone always says ‘wherever.’ We want everyone to know that this place exists and that we’ll welcome them with the friendliness that characterizes us,” he added.
The truck is open for lunch, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., and offers parking for customers who do not necessarily live or work in the neighborhood.
