EVERTEC, VCE partner to launch new tech infrastructure
Río Piedras-based Evertec is offering new data center software.
EVERTEC Group LLC and Virtual Computing Environment announced Tuesday the introduction of the VBlock, a technological platform that provides all the necessary components to facilitate the virtualization of company’s data center, minimize risks, as well as the complexity and the implementation time of new projects.
“We’re pleased to increase our offering, because this system not only will upgrade company data centers by providing all the necessary components to virtualize their servers, but also will facilitate the implementation of cloud computing, which allows companies to host web-based services in a more cost effective manner,” said Miguel Arocho, senior vice-president of business development and sales for EVERTEC, at the event to unveil the new service.
The availability in Puerto Rico of VBlock strengthens EVERTEC’s cloud services offering, which includes email, virtual data centers and business continuity solutions, company executives said.
“Nowadays companies don’t need to have a data center to install applications, which represents big savings in terms of equipment and personnel. This a competitive advantage not only for big companies, but for small companies as well,” said Javier Vázquez, infrastructure and cloud solutions product manager for EVERTEC.
EVERTEC is the first company that Virtual Computing Environment has authorized and certified to offer VBlock in the local market.
“This company has distinguished itself for its technological capabilities and experience, which has allowed it to bring efficiencies and more competitiveness to its clients,” said León J. Taiman, vice president for the Caribbean and Latin America for VCE, formed by Cisco and EMC with investments from VMware and Intel.
