Suzuki del Caribe is looking to reinvent itself by expanding into the distribution of marine products out of its new 30,000 square-foot warehouse at located at the Sabana Gardens Industrial Park in Carolina.

During a news conference Tuesday, company executives said the so-called Suzuki Foreign Trade Zone has an inventory of 1.2 million parts and accessories to cater to its Caribbean footprint.

“Our goal is to reach 21 countries in the Caribbean and South America,” said Erving Rosario, sales and marketing manager for Suzuki del Caribe.

“There is great potential in the Caribbean region for marine motors due to the large amount of nautical business that depends on our product,” he added.

The company’s projected sales of marine products, including additional profits from exports to the 10 territories in the region which it already serves, are expected to reach some $3.5 million this fiscal year, executive said.

Furthermore, the company is also expecting sales generated from its recently established auto-paint store, Del Caribe Colors, to reach about $1 million.

When added, Suzuki anticipates closing the fiscal year with $10 million in sales, when factoring in about $5.5 million in projected sales of motors and parts in Puerto Rico and the rest of the region. The company expects to double the figure in five years.
