VAPR Federal Credit Union opens new $9M HQs
The credit union’s new headquarters will house administrative offices and customer service.
VAPR Federal Credit Union inaugurated Tuesday its new $9 million, 70,000 square-foot headquarters on Route 177 in Guaynabo, which house administrative offices and a branch. Credit union officials offered details of the new investment during a news conference.
The inauguration represents a milestone for the credit union that has been in business for more than 60 years, said Ángel Lorenzo-Soto, general manager.
The design of the VAPR building seeks to create spaces that promote collaborative interaction among its 30 employees in addition to areas that facilitate member services, he said. The structure integrates “green” elements to reduce energy and water consumption.
VAPR Federal Credit Union is ranked 12th among the island’s 126 such financial operations, based on assets. It was recently certified by the National Credit Unions Association as a government agency, which will allow it to expand opportunities for its members, said Ángel Luis Vázquez, operations manager.
