Granicus showcases Puerto Rico tech talent through student program

Granicus, a company that provides customer experience technologies and services for government agencies, recently hosted computer science students from the University of Puerto Rico in Ponce as part of an educational program to support the island’s technology ecosystem and workforce development.

The event, held at Granicus’ San Juan office, introduced students to workplace practices in customer experience technology, product development and digital innovation.

Organized in collaboration with the university’s Coding Bootcamp, the visit offered participants exposure to how academic training applies in industry settings, said program director Diana M. López-Robledo.

“The company tour was a unique and enriching educational experience for the students, with a positive impact on their professional development,” she said.

“This opportunity allows them to connect classroom learning with real-world industry experience, strengthen their confidence and prepare to contribute to the technology sector in the future,” she added.

Thirteen students, five mentors and three professors took part in sessions covering Granicus’ organizational structure, customer experience processes and product development.

Students also met with company staff who discussed their career paths and offered guidance on entering the technology field.

“Technology not only transforms processes — it transforms lives,” said Viviana Dávila, vice president of customer experience for Latin America and the Caribbean. “At Granicus, we believe that connecting young people to the real world of public innovation is essential to building a fairer, more efficient and more connected future.”

The initiative is part of Granicus’ corporate volunteer program, “Stronger Together with the Community,” which supports educational and professional growth opportunities.

Marketing Director María Isabel Rodríguez-Rivera said the effort reflects the company’s commitment to creating spaces “where young people can learn, ask questions and dream big.”
