Grocer SuperMax launches home delivery service
SuperMax recently began offering delivery service to the Condado and Isla Verde areas.
Retailer SuperMax recently launched its “Pon SuperMax” delivery program, testing the service out at its De Diego and Isla Verde locations. The service could benefit clients who depend on the metropolitan area bus service, which is on strike this week.
The free delivery service caters primarily to serve customers who live in apartment buildings in the Condado and Isla Verde areas, who are required to buy at least $50 in groceries to be eligible for delivery, company officials said.
“The program serves a need of customers neighboring our Diego and Isla Verde stores, most of whom live in apartments and find the logistics of carrying their groceries home a complicated task,” said Daniel Rigau, marketing manager of the grocery chain, noting the areas covered are Santurce, Miramar, Condado, Villa Palmeras, Loíza Street, the Luis Lloréns Torres housing complex, Puntas las Marías, Ocean Park, Villa Mar and the high-rises in Isla Verde.
“‘Pon SuperMax’ is a total solution that provides greater convenience, comfort and safety for our customers, an initiative that is also part of our range of services that distinguish us as pioneers in the market,” he said, hinting at the possibility that the service could be extended to other stores in the future.
To launch the service, the company bought a van that it has identified and equipped to deliver groceries. To request the ‘Pon SuperMax’ service, customers must call ahead to the store’s customer service desk, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m.
