For more than three years, high-fashion shop Eco Boutique Renovable has been benefiting countless of underprivileged women in Puerto Rico through donations of previously owned clothing and accessories, meeting its goal of recycling and reusing quality items.
Since its foundation in May 2010, Eco has donated thousands of pieces of clothing to women and youth shelters, such as the Casa Protegida Julia de Burgos, the Youth Development Program to provide promo dresses, the Salvation Army, Casa la Providencia in San Juan, La Fondita de Jesús, Hogares Crea for women in Miramar, Caritas de Puerto Rico and the Children’s Hospital. The shop has also made special shipments to the Dominican Republic and Haiti.
Eco is a consignment store that offers the opportunity to sell and/or buy classic clothing and accessories, like new and in perfect condition, such as gowns for galas, senior proms, “Sweet 15” birthdays and weddings, casual dresses and blouses, purses and shoes.
Eco handles the work and expense necessary to market and sell items brought into the store on consignment. Once sold, the store splits the profit with the client who delivered the articles. If they agree, any unsold item within an established time frame will be earmarked for donations.
Eco Boutique Renovable is located on Roosevelt Avenue and accepts merchandise Monday to Friday, via appointment.
