PRHTA heralds holiday season at ‘Saborea Winter Party’
Platos Restaurant in Isla Verde put out one of its signature dishes at the tasting party.
The Puerto Rico Hotel and Tourism Association officially kicked off the holiday season this past weekend with the culinary celebration of Saborea Puerto Rico Winter party at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel in Isla Verde.
The event, a prelude to Saborea Puerto Rico scheduled for April 3-6, gathered more than 20 of the best local restaurants, wineries, spirits and beer. Some of the tasting stations were: Al Gusto, Zest Restaurant, Paellas y Algo Mas, Lola’s Eclectic, Made in Puerto Rico, Chef Marilyn Lopez, Iguana Pub, Vany’s Cakes & More, Pitorro, Di Pa Comer, Salsa Restaurant, Coquitos by DD, Passion Sekua, The Garden, C Bar Kitchen in Style, Kiero Coco, Platos Restaurant, Sirena Bar and Tapas, Textura, MBTI culinary school, the Universidad del Este, among others.
“Those who attended the event enjoyed our culinary fare with a touch of the holidays. It was an extraordinary night when we welcomed the holidays with great music, food, and drink — all an integral part of what we offer as a destination year round,” said PRHTA President Clarisa Jiménez. “The Winter Party served as a trial of what’s to come at the 7th edition of Saborea Puerto Rico with all its constituents.”
Saborea Puerto Rico is slated to take place at the Escambron Beach in San Juan, with the goal of showing the world the best of the island’s gastronomy, while assisting tourism development. The funds collected from ticket sales are used to train, practice, educate and provide the latest programs for employees in the tourism industry.
