IAB readies to unveil local social network usage trends
The Internet Advertising Bureau, Puerto Rico chapter, will unveil the results of the second edition of its Social Networks study, which aims to show the prevailing trends in the use of online networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Skype, LinkedIn, Google, YouTube and others.
Last year’s estudio showed a marked local preference for Facebook, trailed by Twitter, and professional network LinkedIn. About 72 percent of the 600 people interviewed last year confirmed they had a single Facebook account, which they accessed mostly through laptop computers.
The objective behind developing the study was to give Puerto Rico’s marketing and public relations professionals a quantitative tool to help them better understand social networks and their impact on consumers.
So far, this year’s survey “has shed important information that will help the local industry make better decisions when integrating these Internet channels in their marketing strategies,” said Ernesto González, president of the IABPR.
“Today, social networks are a very important component in any marketing mix,” he added.
