Wireless provider Claro announced this week its new lineup of calling plans featuring unlimited, no-contract offers for families looking to share services. The carrier is also offering to pay up to $710 to customers looking to switch from a competitor.

The new family plans allow customers to design their service, deciding how much data to add to their plans, from 1GB to 10GBs, the carrier said.

“Our new family plans best any other on the market, allowing each customer to design their plan and allocate the gigabytes of Internet they want on each line — with great savings,” said Enrique Ortiz de Montellano, president of Claro.

“This offer, as our campaign says, is designed for giga-intense families whose members have special needs for Internet use,” he said.

Customers can choose from local or national services that include unlimited calls and texts, additional lines and the amount of Internet data needed.

Meanwhile, Claro is offering to pay the $100 portability penalty and up to $350 for early cancellation fees for up to six lines per client who switches. Furthermore, clients who trade in their handsets could get up to $260 per device.

Claro wires up Ruth’s Chris Steak House
In related news, the carrier announced this week a collaboration agreement with Ruth Chris Steak House to cover all of the restaurant’s telecommunications services, namely, phone, broadband and IPTV needs. As part of the agreement, patrons will be able to connect to Claro WiFi services free of charge while they eat at the restaurant located atop the Popular Center building in Hato Rey

“We’re excited about this agreement that allows Ruth Chris customers to have access to high speed Internet and Claro TV, the most important technological innovation, globally, when it comes to TV service,” said Ortiz de Montellano.
