Liberty wraps mobile migration process, continues optimizing system

Liberty Puerto Rico announced it has concluded the migration process for its mobile customers, following its acquisition of the former AT&T Wireless operation on the island.

In a press release, Liberty confirmed it “continues optimizing operational processes, including billing, to deliver added value and an excellent experience to its customers.”

“We’re deeply grateful to our customers and employees for their support and trust throughout this process. Now that we have concluded the transfer of mobile customers to our own systems, we’re focusing on optimizing our platforms to deliver the extraordinary mobile service experience that our customers have come to expect from us,” said Eduardo Díaz-Corona, general manager of Liberty.

The migration process took several months and was not without its bumps. Customers experienced service interruptions that ranged from hours to days, prompting the Puerto Rico Telecommunications Bureau to call the company to explain the process during a public hearing in February.

Díaz-Corona added that customer service representatives continue to support customers at the company’s stores and call centers with any remaining matters, such as device-related issues, and any necessary software updates, particularly for Samsung devices. The company is contacting customers that require software updates or device upgrades.

Improvements to MyLiberty’s app and website
Meanwhile, the company announced it recently launched an enhanced version of its My Liberty platform, available on app and web versions, allowing customers to access their home and mobile accounts in the same place with the same username and password, the first of many benefits the company will offer with the converged services.

Customers may also check the services they are subscribed to, see current and past balances, download bills, check their payment history, pay their bills, manage their accounts, and reset their home internet modems, just to name a few available features.

The company is also “actively enhancing” its roaming offering by adding more coverage and major destinations around the world, especially those destinations most frequented by Puerto Rican travelers like the Dominican Republic. The roaming service entails a daily fee.
