Margaritaville at Sea to include San Juan in 2027 routes

Margaritaville at Sea’s new flagship, the Beachcomber.

Margaritaville at Sea said its newest flagship vessel, the Beachcomber, will begin sailing from PortMiami in 2027 with itineraries that include San Juan among its featured destinations.

The ship will offer four- to eight-night voyages through the Eastern and Southern Caribbean, adding Puerto Rico to a roster of ports of call the company described as “culturally rich.”

Guests will be able “to explore San Juan’s cobblestone streets, historic forts and coastal views” as part of the Beachcomber experience, the company said. Other stops include St. Maarten, St. Thomas, Puerto Plata in the Dominican Republic, and southern Caribbean islands such as Aruba, Bonaire and Curaçao.

“In just a few short years, we’ve gone from one ship and one itinerary to three homeports, three distinct ships and over 25 amazing ports throughout the Caribbean,” said Christopher Ivy, chief executive of Margaritaville at Sea Cruise Line.

“The arrival of Beachcomber in PortMiami is the next big chapter in our growth, giving our guests greater accessibility, more horizons to explore and more time to unwind,” he said.

At more than 100,000 gross tons, Beachcomber will be the largest vessel in the fleet, designed to deliver longer cruises and expanded amenities. The company said the ship will feature more than 15 new venues, enhanced dining, upgraded staterooms and a wide range of onboard entertainment.

San Juan’s inclusion in the itineraries reflects Puerto Rico’s importance in the Caribbean cruise market, offering historic and cultural immersion along with unique natural landscapes. Bookings for Beachcomber’s inaugural 2027 voyages opened this week.
