MCS obtiene una calificación de 5 estrellas de Medicare por tercer año consecutivo
For the third consecutive year, MCS Classicare has received the top five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, or CMS, becoming the only Medicare Advantage plan in Puerto Rico to sustain the federal quality distinction.
The company also ranked as the largest high-quality plan in the United States among 521 evaluated by CMS, it said in a statement.
“This continued recognition from CMS validates our unwavering commitment to excellence in the quality of healthcare and member satisfaction,” said Jim O’Drobinak, chief executive of MCS. “It’s an honor to be the only plan on the island to hold this distinction for three straight years.”
He called the recognition “a historic achievement for everyone in Puerto Rico” that reinforces the company’s leadership and focus on “accessible, high-quality care.”
The CMS Star Rating system assesses Medicare Advantage and prescription drug plans on more than 40 measures, including chronic condition management, preventive care, member satisfaction and customer service. Only 18 plans in the United States achieved five-star status for 2026.
“This achievement is made possible thanks to the dedication of our more than 2,500 employees, the trust of our members and the outstanding collaboration of our providers,” said Inés Hernández-Roses, the company’s chief medical officer.
With a network of more than 13,000 providers and more than 15 plan options, MCS Classicare said it will continue to refine its person-centered care model and offer Puerto Rico’s Medicare beneficiaries year-round enrollment flexibility.
